New Years Eve was spent in the Hobart CBD. We had a great time watching the fireworks and wandering around the Salamanca area, popping into pubs and generally enjoying the atmosphere.
It was well organised and not at all busy.
Our campsite at 7 mile beach had organised a bus for us to make the short trip, so we got back on the bus after midnight and went back to the caravan. A different experience for us to remember.
After a few more days at 7 mile beach, we packed our caravan up and left the caravan park to continue our exploration of Tassie.
Bruny Island, beautiful Tasmanian experience.
We boarded the Bruny Island ferry during the morning and crossed the small expanse of sea and disembarked without a problem.
Using our trusted Wikicamps iPhone app, we found our way a few kilometres to the Bruny Island Landscape Supplies, low cost camping around the back of a small builders merchants. The owners offered us a place for our caravan with power and water for $10/night. We loved the place and the owners, like most Tasmanians were so friendly.
Here are some pictures of our experiences on Bruny.
We had five wonderful days on Bruny and would recommend everyone to have at least 2 days on the island.

We left Bruny Island saying that we will be back! Such a lovely desolate place. We travelled a few kilometres to a free camp and stayed overnight. Cygnet was a nearby town, we visited and enjoyed.
The next night saw us camping at New Norfolk.

19th January 2017. Whilst we were driving back from Lake Dobson, we received the news that our dear friend and Landlord from New Zealand had passed away. We were very upset and went back to the caravan .
Richmond
Richmond is a very pretty tourist town, built by convicts and boasts a gaol and a very old bridge. We loved the caravan park and visited wineries and restaurants from here.
Our friends who live in Hobart had recently had a baby and we went to see the new bubba

We left Richmond and headed up the main highway towards Launceston, stopping at Ross on the way. We had been told about a café that was famous for its vanilla slices which we bought and ate. Not as good as all the recommendations!!!
Ross is a beautiful place with very old and well maintained buildings.
