En route to Victoria. Eden, Mallacoota and Lakes Entrance.

Eden.
We towed down to Eden from Ulladulla. Quite a pleasant 200km tow, hilly and quite steep in places but we arrived at the Garden of Eden caravan park and soon settled in for our 4 night stay.
The weather was a little unsettled but we got the opportunity to have beach time and pleasant walks.
We visited the whaling museum and learned about "Old Tom" a killer whale who led a pod of whales, corralling whales for the whalers to kill, in exchange for the succulent lips and mouths of the catch. When Old Tom died, they mounted his skeleton in the museum for all to see.

Mallacoota

This place is basically a holiday town, relying on visitors during the holiday periods. The Foreshore holiday park takes up a large part of the town, most campers come here every year in the same spot.
We visited a market and also had dinner at the golf course. The courtesy bus picked us up at our caravan as it was raining hard. We saw lots of kangaroos at the golf club, they were oblivious to the violent storm overhead!

Lakes Entrance

This is another seaside holiday town. The beach is one of the best and largest we have been on. It was virtually deserted when we were there as school holidays were over. The Eastern Beach holiday park was quite full when we got there on Australia day 2015. Within 2 days, the park was nearly empty! We cycled into the main town a few times. Helen found a lovely haberdashery shop and bought lots of wool for her to knit two small blankets for our grandsons.
This area of Gippsland is very beautiful and different to lots of other places in Australia we have been to so far. the inland lake system is huge, allowing visitors to experience sea and lake in one place.

Lots of Black Swans in Lakes Entrance

Lots and lots of Pelicans at Lakes Entrance
